Peacock Farmhouse

This extensive family house with swimming pool and large grounds sits on the outskirts of beautiful St. Andrews by the Sea, New Brunswick. Peaceful and secluded, you can relax by the pool or sip coffee in the sun, minutes from the sea and historic town centre.

Peacock Farm is an historic house (C.1850) with architectural significance.  It easily accommodates multi-generational groups with its master suite and 5 further bedrooms, 4 bathrooms (+2 guest closets), a well equipped kitchen and generous living space, separate lounge, dining room, kitchenette, utilities and pool house.

There is a large integrated kitchen and living room with doors which open onto the patio and pool area.  The kitchen has everything you need to do everything from frying eggs and making coffee, to baking cookies or boiling lobsters.  We are a family of keen cooks and the kitchen is outfitted accordingly.  There is also a second kitchen with another large fridge, kettle etc., perfect for early morning coffee making or teenagers looking for late night drinks and snacks by the pool.  The integrated living room has a round table in the bay window seating 4-6 for smaller groups or informal meals as well as a breakfast bar with high stools.  There is a separate dining room, with double doors which also open to the pool/patio area which seats 12-14 people for when the house is full, for guests or if you wish to dine more formally.

There is also a large separate drawing room with an open fire and bay windows, one with a window seat.  The sofas and arm chairs in this charming room offer a peaceful, cool retreat in summer and a comfortable space for cooler evenings.  This room also has a large table and chair for remote working.   

The house accommodates one large group or two families generously, as the bedrooms divide across 2 sides of the house.  Each bedroom is individually decorated and provides calm spaces to escape noise and a busy family!  The primary suite is on the ground floor with a king sized bed, substantial walk in wardrobe, walk in shower and cast iron bath tub overlooking the garden. Further sunny bedrooms are spread across the house with plenty of light, air and close access to bathrooms.  The pink king bedroom is also ensuite.

Peacock Farm has a mature garden for children to run and play in with trees to climb, creek running through the garden with wooden bridge, with a view through the trees to the ocean.  

There is plenty of privacy in the garden thanks to Peacock Farmhouse being the last house before two private roads.  There is a large inviting garden patio with dining area and plenty of space for al fresco barbecues - and shade offered by two apple trees.  There is also a separate pool house with a toilet and changing space.

This is an elegant and charming clapboard house with plenty of character, painted wooden features and floors throughout lends warmth in winter and well ventilated cool indoor space in summer.

Close by are the great attractions of Saint Andrews, NB; internationally renowned Atlantic Golf Course, Hunstman Marine Aquarium, whale watching in the Bay of Fundy, 15 mins from Chamcook Lake and Ministers’ Island.  We have included all our favourite places in Saint Andrews and nearby on the website, so do take a look.

Walking from the house includes Nature Trails and historic town of St Andrews NB, for art galleries, great independent cafes and restaurants, a terrific local library and a great playground.

Excellent access by car to Calais Maine (45 mins), 90 mins from Saint John NB airport, 2.5hrs from Fredericton airport and 4 hours from Halifax, Nova Scotia airport or six from Boston, Maine (USA) for connecting flights to Montreal, Toronto, New York and London England.
